Sodium Meta Silicate is a highly corrosive compound which can be used in the hydrothermal preparation of thorium uranium silicate and polythiophene/sodium metasilicate. It is highly irritating to skin and may show serious damages to the eyes and respiratory tract on exposure and inhalation by reacting with mucous membranes. It physically appears as a fine white colored crystalline powder with a water solubility of 22.2 grams per 100 milliliters at a temperature of 25 degree Celsius.
